IOn Thursday we had so much fun with these activities that we decided to share them with you so you can play at home. First, we played a math game to develop fluency in finding the missing number. Your first grader should have brought the game board and cards home to practice. All you need to do is cut out the cards. Start with the side without the missing addend (with the blank square in the middle). Say the equation aloud. Use the other addend to add on until you get to the total on the right. The number added is the missing number. Place the card on the game board with the correct missing number square. When you finish, check and correct any cards with the incorrect answer.
