Be sure to check your child's Tuesday Folder. Inside you will find many important papers. Please note that we have some new homework to add to the Weekly Spelling Practice. This week we have added a Reading Log. Please plan to spend 15-20 minutes each night reading to, with, or listening to your child read. First, have your child write his/her name at the top and today's date (9-8-15). Next, cross out Monday as there was not school due to Labor Day. Then, check how your child completed the homework each night ("I read to myself!" "I read to someone!" or "Someone read to me!"). Finally, write the book title and sign your initials. If you should need another copy, please one under the Reading tab on this site. Be sure to have your child turn it in on Monday.
In your child's Tuesday Folder you should also find a Class Rules Book. Please take some time to review this with your child. In fact, why not have him/her read it to you? This could count as part of your reading time on their log. We have been working really hard to establish our rules and procedures to ensure safety and a good working environment. Ask your child what it means to "listen and follow directions," "try your best," "respect others," and "respect our classroom." They should be able to tell you about each.
Happy reading!
